About Osmyum

Fifteen years inside CEE electronics waste streams.

Osmyum is the result. We started buying excess/obsolete electronic components instead of watching it get scrapped.

The story

Why Osmyum exists

Our founder spent fifteen years inside the waste streams of Tier-1 OEM and EMS plants across Central and Eastern Europe — most of them as general manager and partner of an embedded waste-management operation. The work meant being on the factory floor every week, watching what got moved, what got reused, and what quietly went to scrap because no one had the time or the channel to recover it.

Sealed reels. MSL-protected modules. Components in their original moisture barrier bags, untouched since the factory closed the order. Often a six-figure write-off, every quarter.

The plant teams weren't negligent — they were busy. The problem wasn't intent, it was infrastructure. There was no fast, trustworthy outlet for surplus that respected how the components were packaged, how the date codes mattered, and how the buyer downstream would later need to defend the chain of custody.

Osmyum exists to be that outlet.

What this changes for you

You won't have to explain your plant to us

Zoltan Bartha spent 15 years in the CEE industrial waste industry, 11 of them as General Manager of the leading industrial waste management company, with permanent teams working inside Tier-1 automotive, consumer electronics and industrial plants. We know how surplus gets classified internally, who has to sign, and why "is this waste or is this goods" decides which process your lot goes through.

Your packaging stays closed

A sealed reel in its original MSL bag is worth materially more than the same parts loose in a bin — so we never ask you to open anything to quote it. Photograph the labels; that is enough. Sealed reels are taken on label quantity, pallets are sealed at your site, and the seal break and count are recorded at ours.

Cash in days, not a consignment agreement

Most buyers of surplus set a minimum lot size, quote in weeks, and would rather consign than purchase. We do the opposite: outright purchase, a quote within four hours of your list, payment in your account before the truck leaves your site, collection within five working days. No minimum lot.

Central and Eastern Europe is where Europe's electronics actually get built. The region runs roughly 400 EMS plants against more than 1,760 in Western Europe, yet delivers comparable revenue — fewer sites, far higher volumes, and the automotive and industrial Tier-1 programmes that come with them. Osmyum operates inside that footprint.
